Description

Welcome to HyMy Village's breastfeeding guidance if you are pregnant or have recently given birth and need information or support related to breastfeeding. Breastfeeding guidance can be provided through discussion and demonstration. The reception is a low-threshold service, and you do not need a referral. According to your decision, you can also bring another parent or someone else close to you to the appointment. The guidance is carried out by Metropolia's student completing a midwife or health nurse degree or breastfeeding guidance training. Our staff, who are health care professionals, are responsible for the service. * In breastfeeding guidance, you get individual guidance and support for breastfeeding and starting breastfeeding. * Guidance includes verbal counseling and, if necessary, observation of possible breastfeeding. * The aim is to increase your breastfeeding knowledge and support your breastfeeding confidence. How to use it

The in-person service is provided as an individual appointment (60 min) at Metropolia's Myllypuro campus in the Hymy Village health and care facilities. There is also the option for a remote appointment using a secure, non-recording video connection. Appointment times are available weekly during the academic terms. An appointment is required. You can make an appointment either by calling our customer service or by booking a time through the online booking system. You can also request non-urgent assistance through our chat service.

About this service

Description

At HyMy Village oral health services, you will be met in an unhurried and professional manner by dental hygiene students from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. The services are supervised by our instructors, who are healthcare professionals. We treat patients of various ages who have been referred by the dental care services of the City of Helsinki. You will need a referral from your local municipal dentist. Once you have received a referral from the Helsinki City Oral Health Services, it will be sent electronically to our teaching clinic, and a dental hygiene student will call you to book your first appointment. Treatment is free of charge for Helsinki residents. • At your first appointment, we will perform a comprehensive oral examination, including caries and periodontal (gum and supporting tissue) assessments. The supervising instructor will review any findings together with the dental hygiene student. • During the appointment, you will also receive instructions and, if necessary, guidance on oral self-care. • Together, we will create a treatment plan based on your symptoms and agree on any necessary follow-up appointments. • Any required procedures will be performed during your follow-up visits. We also offer private oral health services, for which you can book an appointment directly by phone without a referral. These services include, for example, tartar removal, stain removal, tooth whitening, and the application of dental jewelry. Private oral health services are fee-based. Treatments provided by students are not covered by Kela reimbursement.

How to use it

An appointment is required for consultations. You can book an appointment for private oral health services by calling our customer service. For non-urgent matters, you can also use our chat service. Private oral health services are low-threshold services and do not require a referral. If you are a patient of the Helsinki health center dental care, you will need a referral from your local municipal dentist. Once we have received the referral, a dental hygiene student will contact you.

In the Elderly Care services of HyMy Village, the social and healthcare students of Metropolia University of Applied Sciences will meet you expertly and without haste. Our staff, who are health care professionals, are responsible for the services. Together we can support your good aging. During the appointment, we will map your life situation and you will receive individual guidance and counseling. The topics of the meetings arise from your wishes and needs. If you wish, you can come to the meeting once or more times depending on your needs in the low-threshold consultation (90 min.) The students will offer you targeted guidance and counseling on health, well-being, functional capacity, services for older adults, and advocacy-related issues. You can book an appointment if you are concerned about your caregiver situation, memory issues, or coping at home. The consultation can also include tests for memory, depression, nutrition, and other assessments. The students will help address your concerns and, if needed, refer you to further assistance. Description

The osteopathy service is provided by students in training at the osteopathy teaching clinic in HyMy Village, where you will be treated professionally and holistically. The students are supervised by our teachers, who are registered healthcare professionals with Valvira. The phases of the appointment include assessment of the reason for your visit, osteopathic examination, osteopathic treatment, health-promoting guidance, and planning of further care. To achieve the best results, we work together with you, following person-centered values. During your first visit, you will be asked about your current complaints, previous medical history, general health status, and any other factors that may affect your overall condition. We assess the health of your musculoskeletal system by observing body function, palpation, and specific tests. Based on the interview and examination, the student, under the guidance of the teacher, forms an osteopathic working hypothesis. On this basis, the need for osteopathic treatment, advice and guidance is assessed, and a treatment plan is created. Osteopathy services include manual therapy and exercise guidance as needed.
