About this service
Description
If you cannot independently authorise in the Suomi.fi Web Service, for example due to lack of competence or identification means, you can submit a mandate application yourself or with your assistant on the ‘Authorisation with an application’ page. Your assistant may be either the desired assignee or some other person.
With a mandate application, you can grant a mandate for transactions that a person or organisation of your choice can use to act on your behalf in services that utilise Suomi.fi e-Authorizations. You can cancel a mandate you have granted with an invalidation application.
One way to grant mandates is to approve a mandate request that the person you have selected as the assignee has made in Suomi.fi e-Authorizations. You can accept a mandate request at a service location of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
How to use it
First, decide who you want to act on your behalf, in which matters and for how long. Then, agree with this desired assignee on how you want to make the authorisation.
You can submit an electronic mandate application yourself, together with the person you have selected as the assignee or with another assistant on the ‘Authorisation with an application’ page.
To submit an application, you need a computer, tablet or smartphone and a network connection. The person you have selected as the assignee or an assistant can help you submit the application as an identified customer of the Suomi.fi Web Service. Then, they can follow the progress of your application in the service. If the assistant cannot or does not wish to log in to the Suomi.fi Web Service, you can send the application by post.
If you cannot submit the application yourself and with an assistant, you can book an appointment at your choice of a service location of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency where an official will assist you with the application. Check that you have all the necessary information for the mandate application.
### Accepting a mandate request
One way to grant mandates is to approve a mandate request. The person you want to act on your behalf identifies themselves in the Suomi.fi Web Service and sends you a mandate request. For this purpose, they need your name, personal identity code and a list of the mandate themes that you want to give them.
After this, you must accept the mandate request at one of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s service locations. If you make an appointment in the ‘Suomi.fi e-Authorizations for organisations and citizens’ service, you can avoid queuing and can ensure that you are served.
### Do you need help?
The advisory service on Suomi.fi services provides guidance on the use of e-Authorizations by phone. You can also find instructions in the ‘Instructions and support’ section of the Suomi.fi Web Service.
