Blocking a notification of move is useful if your information has been used for a false notification of move or there's a possibility for that.
Published by: Digital and Population Data Services Agency · Government organisation
Description language: English
Coverage: All Finland
About this service
Description
The possibility to block a notification of move is intended for those whose information has been used for a false notification of move, or who fear that their personal information could be used for making a false notification of move to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. In these cases, the person has usually lost their identity documents, or they have been stolen. Often a report of an offence has already been filed.
A block on a notification of move is made to Digital and Population Data Services Agency and entered into the Population Information System.
If you have filed for a block on a notification of move and you move, your notification of move will be transferred to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency for processing but will not register in your data. The processing of the notification of move and the registration of data require that the blocking of the notification of move is removed at the Suomi.fi web service, or that you personally visit the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
How to use it
### How do I block a notification of move?
The fastest and easiest way to access the Block a notification of move service electronically is on the Personal Data page of the Suomi.fi web service at www.suomi.fi/your-data/personal-data. If you do not have online bank user identifiers or a mobile certificate, you may block a notification of move by personally visiting an office of the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. The matter can be dealt with at any of our offices.
A guardian requesting a block of a notification of move for a minor, must make the request in writing in connection with a personal visit. The request must include the consent of the other guardian and the minor aged 15-17, to enable the block of a notification of move.
### Block a notification of move online at the Suomi.fi web service - Do the following:
Block a notification of move
1. Go to Suomi.fi and sign in using your bank identifiers or mobile certificate.
2. Click the Block a Notification of Move tab, and then check the Block a Notification of Move box.

2. Click the Block a Notification of Move tab, and then uncheck the Block a Notification of Move box.
3. Click the Confirm Change button.
Also remember to request for the Moving Protection from Posti at posti.fi/en. This way, you will ensure that no one is able to submit a notification of move with your information through Posti, either.
### How do I submit a notification of move if I have the Block a notification of move service?
If you submit a notification of move electronically or using a form, you must first cancel the block of a notification of move in the Suomi.fi web service. Once your notification of move has been processed, you can re-enable the service. With the same service, you can view your new address information on the Address Information tab, after your notification of move has been processed and the information is in the Population Information System.

Business development aid is a discretionary grant primarily for the renewal, growth, and internationalisation of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Published by: Economic Development Centre · Government organisation
Description language: English
Coverage: Finland, excluding Åland
About this service
Description
The Economic Development Centres provide funding for projects that promote the growth, renewal, and internationalisation of SMEs through business development aid.
Business development aid can be granted to projects that are assessed to have a significant impact on the company’s growth or renewal, internationalisation, innovation activities, strengthening of expertise, productivity, digital business, adaptation to climate change, promotion of carbon neutrality, or energy and material efficiency.
### Aid must be applied for before the project starts
Note that actions such as entering into an agreement or order related to the project, delivery of a procurement, payment related to a procurement, or any other commitment that irreversibly initiates the implementation of the project are considered as starting the project. Preparatory actions, such as planning work, obtaining permits, and feasibility studies, are not considered the start of the project.
### Applying for aid
The company must prepare a project plan for the development project, which includes the planned actions with a schedule and costs, as well as the concrete results sought. The project must be separate from the company’s other operations and should significantly improve the company’s growth and competitiveness.
The Economic Development Centres primarily provide EU funding. Additionally, in certain designated areas, national funding is available. Open EU funding calls can be found in the EURA2021 system, and national funding calls in the Regional Administration e-service.
### Amount of aid
The support level for development measures can be up to 50 percent of eligible costs, and for development measures implemented as a one-time compensatory project, the support level can be up to 60 percent. For investments, the support level can be 10–40 percent, depending on the size and location of the company.
The granted aid must be at least 10,000 euros. Any higher minimum level will be announced separately in the calls for business development aid.
How to use it
1. Familiarize yourself with the business financing strategy and funding guidelines for your area.
2. Review the call for applications. Note that funding calls can be found in two systems.
3. Consider a preliminary project plan: what costs and actions the project will include, and what concrete outcome is aimed for.
4. Remember to submit the application before starting the project.
Conditions
Business development aid can primarily be granted only to SMEs. The granting of aid is discretionary. The decision is based on a comprehensive assessment of the company and the project, as well as on the funds available.
Aid cannot be granted for the primary production of fishery, agriculture, or forestry. Aid cannot be granted either for the processing of agricultural products or for the marketing of agricultural products. According to the General Block Exemption Regulation (EU No 651/2014 and Commission Regulation 2023/1315), aid cannot be granted for the transport sector, shipbuilding, the coal sector, the steel industry, the broadband sector, or for energy production, storage, transmission, distribution, or infrastructure.

About this service
Description
Information on companies, organisations and industrial rights can be viewed on electronic information services that are maintained by the Finnish Patent and Registration Office (PRH). You can access basic information in the databases for free, but different extracts, rules and certificates are subject to a fee. Most extracts and certificates can be bought online, but you can also receive them by mail or email.
If you order a register extract from the PRH customer service, it will be sent to you as a printout on the official PRH paper and stamped if you request it. Traditional extracts are more expensive than electronic ones, and delivery costs are added to the price in addition to billing costs. However, the information content of the electronic and traditional register extract is the same: the extract contains all valid register entries on the search object.
You can order a certified extract from the official record of correspondence from the Finnish Trade Register, the Finnish Register of Associations, the Floating Charge Register and the Register of Foundations as well as from design rights and utility models. Manual history extracts can be obtained from trade register data, associations and foundations. Translation extracts are available from selected trade register data.
All extracts and certificates provided by PRH are listed on our website.
How to use it
You can buy the following products from PRH’s electronic services:
* a certified extract from the Finnish Trade Register, the Floating Charge Register, and the Register of Foundations
* a register extract from the Finnish Trade Register, the Finnish Register of Associations, and the Register of Foundations
* a translation extract from limited trade register data
* a stress certificate for floating charges
* a certificate of registration of the Finnish Trade Register and the Register of Foundations.

* BIS extract, i.e. a certified extract from the business and organisation ID register

A permit from the road maintenance authority is required for the installation or maintenance of cables, lines and pipes in a highway traffic area.
Published by: Economic Development Centre · Government organisation
Description language: English
Coverage: Finland, excluding Åland
About this service
Description
You will always need the permission of the road maintenance authority to place cables, lines and pipes in a highway traffic area, as well as for maintaining them. Depending on the situation, the required permit is an installation permit or a works permit.
In certain situations, you can submit a notification of the placement of electrical and telecommunications cables and lines instead of an application for an installation permit. The scope of application of the notification procedure is defined in section 42 a of the Highways Act. In uncertain cases, an installation permit application is recommended. A works permit suffices for some works under the notification procedure.
Lupa-apuri (permit assistant) will help you select the correct application type.
Before applying for a permit, you must carry out the necessary preliminary analyses and find out where the existing lines in the road area are from the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom’s Verkkotietopiste (online information centre), network companies, municipalities and national utility location service and, with regard to road maintenance authorities’ utilities, from the regional Economic Development Centre. Johtotieto Oy can give you information on the Defence Forces’ cables.
Cables installed for road lighting are exceptions. Their installation in a highway traffic area is agreed with the road lighting or electrical works coordinator of the regional Economic Development Centre.
How to use it
Fill in the application primarily in the e-service. Log in to the service using your personal bank identification, mobile certificate, or certificate card.
A carefully completed form with attachments speeds up the processing of your case. Read the instructions and conditions before submitting your application.
If you apply for an installation permit and cannot use the e-service, you can use printable forms. Irrespective of the location, submit the application form to the registry of the Economic Development Centre of Inner Finland (P.O. BOX 40, FI-00072 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CENTRE, FINLAND). When using this application method, a separate processing fee is charged in addition to the actual permit fee.
If you supplement your application later, email the supplementary information to: johdot@elinvoimakeskus.fi. Enter the application’s service ID number, file number or the name of the permit applicant, the work site’s municipality and road number in the subject field of the email.
If you submit a notification in accordance with the notification procedure, you must use the e-service. Please note that the notification cannot be supplemented afterwards.
Fee details
Check the websites of the different licence types for current prices.
The price of the permit or notification is determined by the type of permit, the longitudinal road length of the installation and the number of under and over crossings. Rejected registrations are also subject to a fee.
A notification on terminating transport operations subject to a licence must be submitted to Traficom.
Published by: The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom · Government organisation

Coverage: Finland, excluding Åland
About this service
Description
If you are about to terminate transport operations, remember to apply for a cancellation of your transport licence. Submitting a termination notification to the Trade Register will not cancel your transport licence. You must apply for the cancellation of the transport licence with Traficom separately. By cancelling your transport licence, you will avoid extra costs, such as the annual transport licence holder fee.
How to use it
You can apply for the cancellation of a taxi, goods or passenger transport licence online in My e-Services under the section road traffic transport licences.
Report the licences to be cancelled and the last day of validity of the licence in the service. You cannot report the last day of validity of the licence retroactively or later than six months from the date when the application was submitted.

There is a car tax on almost all vehicles registered or taken into use in Finland for the first time.
Published by: Finnish Tax Administration · Government organisation
Description language: English
Coverage: All Finland
About this service
Description
The car tax must be paid for passenger cars, vans, motorcycles and quadricycles registered or taken into use for the first time in Finland.
How to use it
A company that imports new or used vehicles, manufactures vehicles or intends to import or manufacture vehicles may apply to become a registered issuer of car tax return of the Finnish Tax Administration. The application is free of charge and is made in MyTax. The registered issuer of car tax return first registers the vehicle and then submits a car tax return.
A company that is not registered in the Finnish Tax Administration's car tax issuer register first submits a car tax return and can then start using the vehicle and register it.
There are specific cases of tax-exempt use where this rule does not apply.
Corporate customers can submit a car tax return in MyTax or via the technical interface (API) provided by the Tax Administration.
