Suomeen muuttava ulkomaalainen tarvitsee henkilötunnusta esimerkiksi asiointiin viranomaisten kanssa, hakemaan etuuksia tai avaamaan pankkitilin.
Voit saada suomalaisen henkilötunnuksen, jos tietyt edellytykset täyttyvät. Samalla tallennamme henkilö- ja osoitetietosi Suomen väestötietojärjestelmään.
### Kuka voi saada henkilötunnuksen?
Voit saada henkilötunnuksen, jos oleskelet laillisesti Suomessa ja rekisteröinnille on peruste, kuten:
* Työskentely Suomessa, ja sinulla on työnteko-oikeus
* Opiskelu Suomessa
* Perheenjäsen, jolle on jo rekisteröity osoite Suomessa
* Maahanmuuttoviraston oleskelulupa tai -kortti
* EU-kansalaisen oleskeluoikeuden rekisteröintipäätös
### Mitä tietoja samalla tallennetaan?
Kun saat henkilötunnuksen, sinusta tallennetaan myös henkilötietoja, kuten nimet, syntymäaika, kansalaisuus ja äidinkieli. Lisäksi tallennamme sinulle osoitteen. Tallennamme myös kotikunnan, jos edellytykset täyttyvät. Jos haluat, että sinulle tallennetaan myös siviilisääty ja perhesuhteet, esimerkiksi avioliitto ja vanhemmuus, pyydä sitä erillisellä lomakkeella.
