Description
Duo Family Training is intended for intercultural couples expecting a baby. You are an intercultural couple if you and your spouse were born together in different countries. The aim of the training is to support your family's resources, the well-being of your relationship and coping with the baby's everyday life. The training group leaders have long experience of working with intercultural families as well as first-hand experience of intercultural family life and parenting. Professionally guided training provides you with information based on research and experience, such as: 1. On Intercultural relationships and parenting 2. Maintaining the well-being of the relationship in the everyday with a baby 3. Supporting children's bilingualism, multilingualism and identity At the meetings, you also could get to know other intercultural families, as well as to get peer support and new friends from other intercultural families. You can participate in Duo Family Training in face-to-face meetings held in the Helsinki metropolitan area or online groups. An online course is also available.
How to use it
You can find the current information and schedules of the training groups on our website. You can sign up for the group of your choice using the registration form on our website. We will contact those who have registered and send more information about the training approximately 2 weeks before the training date.
Conditions
Duo Family Training is intended for all intercultural couples expecting a baby. An intercultural couple refers to couples where the spouses were born in different countries and usually speak a different mother tongue. The coaching is in English.
