The coaching can benefit companies that • are having to make employees redundant due to production or financial reasons • are laying off employees temporarily, and return to work is uncertain. Restructuring coaching helps dismissed employees find a new profession or job. The duration of the training is case-specific, but at least 10 days. Change training can be linked to other business and employment services, such as business development services, pay subsidy or apprenticeship contracts. The programme is tailor-made to the participants’ needs. A representative of the Central Ostrobothnia Employment Region participates in planning the content of the training and finds the trainer. You will monitor the progress and quality of the training together.

Conditions

The coaching is intended for all employers that are having to lay off people or permanently close their business. It can also be used to support temporarily laid-off employees, The training is also suitable for employers in the public sector. No qualifications or partial degrees are completed during Restructuring coaching. This is a discretionary service. The training is not to be used for the financing of normal orientation and staff training for which the employer is the cost bearer or training that employers organise in order to comply with national training standards. Cooperation between employers, employees and the administration is governed by legislation on protection in the event of restructuring.

You can also search for a partner for a cooperative and franchise chain. * Browse the postings published at Job Market Finland. * Task an expert of the employment services with finding in the employment services customer database your chosen number of candidates that meet your search criteria and showing them to you. * Search for a suitable partner from among the job seekers who are currently developing their skills through entrepreneur training. Browse the Job Market Finlands Current labour market trainings online service for on-going entrepreneur training. You can ask the trainers more about the content and objectives of the training programmes.

How to use it

If you want to publish your posting at Job Market Finland, log in to the online service. You need online banking codes, a mobile certificate, or an identity card with a microchip. To create a posting, you must change your role to a company representative. You can do this by clicking the purple button at the top of the page that says your name or the name of the company you represent. If the company does not appear in the role selection list, check whether you have the necessary authority to represent the company. You can also send the posting to the employment services. The Central Ostrobothnia Employment Region is responsible for providing services to individuals whose home municipality is Kokkola, Kannus, Perho, Kaustinen, Halsua, Lestijärvi, Toholampi, or Veteli. You can complete short-term studies while receiving an unemployment benefit, also known as unemployment security. During short-term studies, you are still obliged to apply for and accept work, and participate in services promoting employment. The studies are not an acceptable reason to refuse a job. An increased unemployment benefit will not be paid on the basis of studying. The employment services does not assess whether short-term studies are full-time or part-time. Such an assessment only takes place when, for example, you want the studies to count towards your work requirement. However, the duration of the studies must always be determined to verify the short-term nature of the studies.

How to use it

When you are a customer of employment services, you must notify the employment services of the following studies 1. Completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a university of applied sciences, 2. Completing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a university, 3. Completing a vocational upper secondary qualification or a module from a vocational qualification, 4. Completing a preparatory training for work and independent living, 5. Comprehensive school and upper secondary school studies, 6. Preparatory education for an upper secondary qualification (TUVA education), 7. Studies at an open university and an open university of applied sciences, 8. Postgraduate studies at a university (licensate and doctoral studies), 9. Completing a further or specialist vocational qualification or module, 10. Studies at a folk high school or a physical education training centre and 11. Other full-time studies providing professional skills with a duration of at least four days. Full-time studies refer to studies organised at least six hours a day. If you are planning to start studying, please contact the employment services well in advance. Do not report short-term studies by submitting a change report in the JobMarket E-services online service. Instead, contact the employment services before starting the studies either by leaving a contact request or calling the general advisory service for private customers. When necessary, the employment services will investigate your studies and submit a statement to the payer of the unemployment security, i.e. Kela or the unemployment fund.

Conditions

You must meet certain conditions to be eligible for unemployment security when studying. * You are registered as a jobseeker with the employment services. * You are over the age of 25. * The total duration of your studies is a maximum of six months. * The studies will provide you with professional skills or promote your business plans. If the total duration of your studies is over six months, they are not considered short-term. In this case, you should find out whether you are entitled to independent studies or part-time studies supported with unemployment benefit. If you wish to continue studies that have previously been interrupted, at least one year must have passed since the interruption started. However, the year-long interruption is not required if you have started your studies during an employment relationship. The right to short-term studies with unemployment security is mainly one-off. The right re-emerges when you meet the minimum employment condition of 26 weeks, and the calculation of the maximum time for earnings-related unemployment benefit restarts. This is required if your previous short-term studies lasted more than three months. If your previous short-term studies did not last for more than three months, you will have the opportunity to complete new short-term studies immediately after your previous studies have ended. However, if you have studied short-term studies before 1 January 2023, a prerequisite for new short-term studies is always the fulfilment of the work requirement. This requirement is not affected by the duration of previous short-term studies. It may be possible to amortise short-term studies provided you contact the employment services in good time. Short-term studies use up the maximum length of time for earnings-related unemployment benefit just like regular studies.

Description

Targeted training is vocational training adapted to the needs of your employees that is also suitable for fixed-term lay-offs. Targeted training is suitable for updating the skills of your existing workforce when your company is undergoing changes that require thorough updating of competencies. These can be technological or operative changes. The aim of Targeted training may also be to prevent lay-offs or dismissals. In such cases, it can be implemented during or instead of temporary lay-offs. No qualifications or partial degrees are completed during the training. The aim is that each student will continue to be employed by the current employer.

Conditions

Targeted training is especially suitable for small and medium-sized businesses. It can also be used by central and local government and parish organisations. Targeted training lasts at least 10 training days per student. This is a discretionary service.

Fee details

The training is funded by the employer and the administration of economic affairs. The employer’s contribution is 30–50% of the total price. The employer’s contribution depends on the company’s size and turnover or balance sheet.

Description

The Central Ostrobothnia Employment region acts as a labor authority and provides employment services to individuals whose municipality of residence is Halsua, Kannus, Kaustinen, Kokkola, Lestijärvi, Perho, Toholampi, or Veteli. During the trial, you will be able to attend lessons and have discussions with the teachers and the guidance counsellor. If necessary, you can receive assistance for planning your use of support services for studying. The maximum duration of a training trial is 10 days at a time. It is possible to organise several training trial periods.  You need to agree with the educational institution on the provision of feedback and possible reporting of absences. The trials are organised either as individual or group services.

You can agree on a training trial with an expert or with your psychologist at the employment services.

Description

Transition security training is a service intended for persons aged 55 or over, who have been dismissed from their employment relationship. The employment services must organise and grant the service to the person once the employer has confirmed the termination of employment. The objective of the transition security training, jointly funded by the Employment Fund and the employer of the dismissed person, is to support the placement of the dismissed person in a new job as a wage earner or entrepreneur, by increasing their professional skills or capabilities as an entrepreneur. The maximum duration of the training or study module is six months.

How to use it

The transition security training will be agreed upon with the employment services after the start of the customer relationship but before the start of the studies. The right to transition security training is recorded in the employment plan. The objectives, contents, implementation method, aspired start date and the deadline for starting the training are recorded in the plan. The objective is that the training can be started no later than three months after the end of the employment relationship.

Conditions

The right to transition security training rests with a person, * who has been dismissed by the employer on a production-related or financial basis * who has reached the age of 55, at the latest on the date of dismissal * who has worked for the same employer for at least five years * who has registered as a jobseeker at the employment services within 60 days of the date of dismissal

Sinun tulee tutustua työkokeilussa sinulle uusiin tehtäviin. Jos olet ollut pitkään pois työelämästä, työkokeilu on mahdollista järjestää ammatissa tai tehtävässä, jossa olet jo aiemmin toiminut. Tällöin on kyse työhön paluun tukemisesta työkokeilun avulla. Jos olet vastavalmistunut, et voi osallistua työkokeiluun omalla alallasi työkokemuksen hankkimiseksi.

Keski-Pohjanmaan työllisyysalue myöntää työllisyysavustusta Kokkolassa toimiville yhdistyksille harkinnanvaraisesti, määriteltyjen myöntämisperusteiden mukaisesti ja työllisyyspalveluiden määrärahan puitteissa. Muissa Keski-Pohjanmaan työllisyysalueen kunnissa toimivat yhdistykset voivat tiedustella avustusta omasta kunnastaan. Kokkolan kaupunginhallitus päättää Kokkolassa toimivien yhdistysten avustuksen myöntämisestä vuosittain. Työllisyysavustusta voidaan myöntää yhdistykselle, jonka toiminta tukee kaupungin työllisyydenhoidon tavoitteita, edistää kokkolalaisten pitkäaikaistyöttömien etenemistä työhön tai koulutukseen sekä vahvistaa heidän osaamistaan. Avustus voi kohdentua yhdistyksen ohjausresurssiin, osaksi työllistettyjen palkkauskustannuksia ja vähäisessä määrin työllistämisestä aiheutuviin välttämättömiin kustannuksiin. Avustusta ei myönnetä sellaiseen toimintaan, johon kaupunki on myöntänyt muuta avustusta tai johon yhdistys saa hankeavustusta. Yhdistys voi hakea avustusta työttömästä työnhakijasta, jolla on työkokeilu- ja palkkatukioikeus. Työttömästä työnhakijasta ei kuitenkaan voi samanaikaisesti olla saatavissa muuta päällekkäisrahoitusta, esimerkiksi hankkeen kautta.

Avustuksen haku Kokkolassa on kaksivaiheinen. Ilmoita ensiksi yhdistyksesi työllisyysavustuksen piirin sähköisessä asioinnissa. Yhdistys voi hakeutua työllisyysavustuksen piiriin milloin tahansa sähköisen asioinnin kautta. Mikäli yhdistyksesi hyväksytään avustuksen piiriin, käy aloituskeskustelu. Hae avustusta työttömästä työnhakijasta kuukausittain sähköisessä asioinnissa oman, erillisen haun kautta.

Yhdistyksen kotipaikka on Kokkola ja/tai se toimii säännöllisesti Kokkolassa. Yhdistyksen toiminnan tulee olla vakiintunutta ja suunnitelmallista. Toiminnan tulee tukea Kokkolan kaupungin työllisyydenhoidon tavoitteita, edistää kokkolalaisten pitkäaikaistyöttömien etenemistä työhön tai koulutukseen sekä vahvistaa heidän osaamistaan. When you get to speak confidentially with a employment services psychologist who is specialised in education, career and the related changes, and in the discussions you will be heard and your matters will be made a priority. When you describe your situation and your wishes to someone else will also give you a better idea of what you should aim for and what measures you could use to achieve your goal. An individual guidance discussion is about an hour long, and you can talk to the same psychologist one or more times. In addition to discussions, the guidance can include psychological tests, education or work try-outs and follow-up tasks. Career guidance can help you with questions such as the following. * What working life or educational goals should I set for myself at this stage of my life? * What field or education will I choose, or could I change careers? * What am I interested in and what is important to me? * What am I good at, what are my strengths and what could I improve in myself? * How much am I ready to invest in order to achieve my goals? * How does my state of health affect my choices? * What to choose when I am interested in everything or interested in nothing?

You can participate in vocational guidance and career planning if * you have sufficient knowledge of Finnish or Swedish, * you are a person of working age or completing comprehensive school, * you are considering your vocational choices or career issues, and * you want help in clarifying your plans. Guidance can also be provided remotely, as long as you mention this preference in your contact request.
