About this service
Description
Neuropsychiatric family coaching provides goal-oriented guidance and support based on the needs of your child and family. The coaching focuses on a specific need for change agreed with the child and family.
The service may be suitable for your family if you live in Helsinki, and the neuropsychiatric symptoms and difficulties with executive functions of your 6–17 year-old child strain the family’s everyday life.
The service requires the family’s commitment to working closely.
You can access our service under the guidance of a health or social welfare professional. You can also apply for the service yourself if your child has a care contact in health care that supports your family in planning the service.
We also offer coaching to parents of symptomatic children aged 6–9 years in the Ihmeelliset vuodet (Wonderful years) parenting group. In the group, we help parents introduce new positive means of upbringing that strengthen the child’s self-esteem and coping. A social welfare or health care professional will guide your family to the group.
