About this service
Description
People with disabilities and severe disabilities are offered different types of housing in the wellbeing services county’s own housing units or in those of the outsourcing service partners.
Service housing for people with severe disabilities includes a tailored level of care, support and assistance in a housing service unit or through support services provided to your home. While living in a housing unit, you pay the rent and food directly to the service provider.
The aim of service housing is to provide you with diverse housing services that meet your needs. These include, for example, meal and safety services as well as counselling and support to carry out daily activities. Service housing can be arranged for you if you need a suitable accommodation and counselling, support or help. You can visit the housing unit free of charge before moving in. The visit includes a presentation of the unit and the services.
In addition to housing, the service includes guidance and support in a housing unit or in your own home based on your needs. Night-time guidance and support can be provided by technical aids, if necessary.
During the day, it is possible for you to attend school, work or day activities. If you are participating part-time or only on certain days, alternative activities can be arranged for you in the housing unit as needed. In principle, you can live in the housing unit for the rest of your life.
Conditions
Service housing under the Disability Services Act is intended for Vantaa and Kerava residents who have a severe disability and meet the criteria. You may be eligible for the service if you need ongoing assistance and support with daily activities at different times of the day but can also manage some activities independently.
To receive the service, please contact the counselling service for people with disabilities either by phone, email, through the Maisa client portal or by sending an application online or in paper form. You can find the up-to-date contact information and opening hours in the Service units tab.
