Description
Helsinki Employment Services provide advice on and support for employment relationships changes and dismissals to both employers and employees. Helsinki helps employees to be laid off or dismissed find new jobs or training opportunities in cooperation with employer representatives and employees or their representatives. Helsinki provides advice to employers in the event of operational restructuring. In most cases, operational restructuring means measures that affect personnel, such as shifting to part-time work, lay-offs or dismissals. Employers have certain obligations when it comes to making changes to employment relationships, which depend on their total number of employees and the number of employees to be dismissed or laid off. Employers are obligated to notify Helsinki Employment Services of any dismissals affecting ten or more employees. In such situations, the employer must also draw up an action plan to promote employment, which details how the jobseeking and training of the dismissed employees will be supported. Furthermore, the employer must provide information about extended transition security for those aged 55 or over.
