Occupation description: Responsibilities of the head of early education centre in the unit of early childhood education and care Early childhood education and care refers to a planned and goal-oriented entity of education, upbringing and care, with an emphasis on pedagogy. Early childhood education and care covers ages 0 - 7. A head of early education centre must have qualified as a teacher in early childhood education and care or as a social pedagogue in early childhood education and care, and have a Master's degree in education, as well as sufficient management skills.

Fire station deputy manager working in a sub-officer duty of a rescue department works as the supervisor of their shift, as the director of rescue operations, as a planner and trainer of training exercises, as a fire inspector and as educators and safety instructors. The fire station deputy manager leads the station service of their shift and is responsible for the planning and organisation of the station administration. A fire station deputy manager can also work as a head of a small fire station or as a responsible expert in the rescue department. In rescue operations, the fire station deputy manager leads the rescue unit, but also larger formations until the fire officer arrives at the site and assumes command responsibility. Competence is based on professional content competence, good management skills and continuous development of professional skills. The fire station deputy manager is also required to master interaction skills: a good work climate and good work motivation of shift staff form the basis for competence development.

If you have obtained a qualification as a sub-officer at rescue service sector abroad, your qualification for the profession will be decided by the Emergency Services Academy Finland. You may qualify as a sub-officer at rescue service sector in Finland if you: • have completed qualified training in another EU/EEA country or Switzerland, and • you are a citizen of an EU or EEA country or have a document that entitles you to be treated in the same way as EU citizens. You may also qualify as a sub-officer at rescue service sector in Finland if: • you are an EU or EEA national, • you have obtained a professional qualification outside the EU and the EEA, • your professional qualification is recognised in another Member State; and • you have worked in the profession for at least three years in the country where your professional qualification is recognised. You can contact the Emergency Services Academy Finland for more information on decision-making criteria.
