Cadastral procedures include plot subdivisions, easement surveys and property definition procedures, such as demarcation, the partitioning of a plot, formation of a public area and coercive purchase of a missing part of a plot, as well as land exchanges in connection with the subdivision of a plot. In addition to real estate formation, it is possible to set property boundaries, establish necessary new easements and process existing rights and easements in a cadastral procedure. A cadastral procedure may be requested by the owner or part-owner of a property or unseparated parcel that is the object of the procedure. If the area has a valid plot division plan, and the land is owned by a single owner, the cadastral procedure begins without an application when the ownership of the unseparated parcel is registered.
