Our services assist you in adapting to your new home country, and we tailor them to suit your needs. The goal is for you to participate in society, have control over your own affairs, and become independent. You may need help finding a suitable school or assistance with health or financial matters. A social worker, social counsellor, and psychologist will support you. You can contact us by phone. Our service point is located at Mikkolankuja 6, 00680 Helsinki.

Описание

As a parent you may experience uncertainty, worry, anxiety or depressive symptoms during or after the baby is born. The infant may cry a lot or be restless or difficult to calm down or have challenges with sleeping and eating. Therapeutic work for families with infants supports the interaction between the parent and the baby and the baby’s development. Parents have the opportunity to work on their parenting skills, as well as their relationship with the infant, their partner and other loved ones. Our forms of work include meetings with a parent and a baby as well as couple, family and group meetings. If necessary, we can make home visits. We offer therapeutic work for families with infants if the support provided by family members or maternity and child health clinics and other basic services is not enough. If you are interested in therapeutic work for families with infants, please contact social counselling for families with children or submit an application in Maisa. Send a message via Maisa by selecting Social Services > Submit an Application/Services for families with children. We will respond to you within three working days. If we cannot reach you by phone, you will get a reply in Maisa. You can apply for therapeutic work for families with infants during your 20th pregnancy week, at the earliest. The service is free of charge. .

Условия

Therapeutic work for families with infants is intended for expecting families and for families with a child under the age on one year, when the worries concerning the birth of the infant and the following months are reflected in the parenthood and the relationship between the parent and the infant. The assistance of the reception for families with infants is necessary, when the support by loved ones or the maternity clinic and other basic services in no longer sufficient. A parent's substance abuse or an acute domestic violence problem is an obstacle to the therapeutic work. The service is only for citizens of Helsinki.
