The owner or holder of land must apply for a permit for earthwork altering the landscape, tree-felling or other similar measures in areas covered by a local detailed plan. A landscape work permit is also required in areas covered by a local master plan, if the plan so requires.

The senior building inspector decides on the landscape-work permits for residential plots in local detailed plan areas (tree-felling), and in other areas, the by the head of planning makes the decisions.

You must always check whether you need a permit. Measures requiring a landscape-work permit: • earthwork altering the landscape • felling trees • other similar measures You only need a permit for a local detailed plan area or a building ban or preservation area and in a local master plan area if the plan so specifies. No permit is required to carry out work that is necessary in order to implement a local detailed plan or a local master plan, or that is in accordance with a building or action permit that has been granted, or to take action that has only minor impact.
