The owner or holder of land must apply for a permit for earthwork altering the landscape, tree-felling or other similar measures, in areas covered by a local detailed plan. A landscape work permit is also required in areas covered by a local master plan, if the plan so requires.
The decision on the application is taken by the authority designated for the task by the municipality.

When planning landscape work, such as felling a tree/trees on your single-family home plot in the plan area, always contact the building inspector of the municipality of Tohmajärvi. The building inspector determines whether the tree has, for example, landscape value, and whether the measure requires a permit.
Landscape work permit is applied for with a permit application.
The permit is applied for using the same form as for building permits. The form is available on the Tohmajärvi municipality website.
You can also use the online service channel. Authentication is required to use the online services.

You must always check whether you need a permit from the supervisory control of buildings.
The permit is applied for by the holders of the building site or their agent with a power of attorney. In companies, a signatory entered in the trade register can apply for the permit.
