You can register as a job seeker before unemployment or a layoff starts, but do it at the latest on your first day of unemployment, because you can only receive unemployment benefits from the day you register. ### Registering as a job seeker online You can log in to Työmarkkinatori with online banking credentials, mobile certificate, or a smart ID card. ### Registering as a job seeker in person If you can’t identify yourself online as a job seeker or you’re not a citizen of an EU or EEA country or Switzerland, you can register as a job seeker at the employment offices in the Kuopio employment area. Fill out the preliminary information form before visiting in person.
